Shamanism is the oldest and most natural healing tradition in the world. A shaman uses knowledge and skills gained through journeying into the spirit world to help others. There are many shamanic healing methods from across the globe and this weekend you will experience a selection of approaches.
Over the weekend you will:
¤ learn theory and practise techniques for healing yourself, others and distance healing;
¤ use journeying techniques;
¤ experience altered states of consciousness;
¤ reconnect with your family and ancestors;
¤ gain clarity, insight and understanding about yourself as a healer; and
¤ experience sacred rituals and ceremonies.
The aim of the weekend is to connect your heart to yourself and others, to nature and to spirit to help effect personal healing and change. The gathering will be in a safe, intimate and trusting environment, where you are free to express and share your feelings.
Facilitators
Paulien Gort moved to Sydney three years ago from Holland where she studied healing with shamans and healers from all over the world (Native American, Siberian, Joruba tradition, Maori). Regularly she goes back to Holland to study with Dancing Thunder, leader of the Susquehannock tribe. She also studied several healing modalities in Holland and continues to do so in Australia. Paulien has her own healing practice: Surya Healings and organises workshops for Shaman Blue Star (Native American tradition). She is passionate about subtle energy, spirituality and music. “Shamanism takes me back to who I really am, close to nature and to my heart”.
Alison Parr grew up on Wirradjirri country in western NSW and has always had an affinity with the land. She has worked in education and sustainability for over 15 years and is co-founder of Gudhara Holistic Sanctuary. Alison has studied Native American, Aboriginal and Vodun shamanic traditions as well as Chiron Healing and Holistic Counselling and Psychotherapy. She is an experienced shamanism facilitator and uses shamanic practices to help reconnect people with mother earth. She inspires others by living sustainably, intimately and genuinely with the earth.
