About Me:
I am a Writer, a Mother, trained teacher and a Thaumaturg ( what mother isn't?) As far as my writing, I am still defining my eclectic style, but have written speculative science fiction, feminist literature, romance, adventure and magazine articles exploring themes in mothering, feminism, spirituality and sharing my journey as a woman. I also write Critical Reviews and enjoy a good Argumentative Essay!

I feel very blessed to have co-written my first book with Jodi Cleghorn about something we are both very passionate about - that of the journey of reclaiming your sexuality and sensuality back after birthing. Feel welcome to check out the free articles and discussions about this area here.

(Its a good sign that we are co-writing something a little lighter now - see Captain Juan!) I also feel that we have started something that will add value to so many men and women around the world and I thank you for joining us on this wonderous journey.

I publish my first drafts of Flash Fiction on my blogsite twice a week and commit my thoughts on writing to my wordpress site once a week. I am a prolific answerer on Yahoo Answers and blog once a week on rediscovering and reigniting your sensuality and sexuality here on our Reclaim site.

I have had articles published in parenting magazines and now have my sights set on being printed in a wider range of publications, entering short story competitions, entering the National Novel Writing Month in November and completing the first draft of my book on Father-Daughter relationships this year.

I am involved with three other co-writing projects and have many others bursting to allow me to start them. Join me for weekly swashbuckling adventures set in the 16th century with Captain Juan or watch for my new book for parents to enrich and empower their children's learning through games, literacy and imaginative play or connect with me through the love of Christmas meals – a recipe book to help cater for most dietary or lifestyle requirements for the festive season. ( keep checking my blogsite for updates).

Reclaiming your Space and Sexuality after Birth

Sex after Postpartum – sounds so clinical doesn’t it? Sadly its treated as such by healthcare professionals and a subject held taboo even amongst the closest of girlfriends. Men and women have different worries and reactions when it comes to sex; without adding the complications of childbirth along with the reshaping and search for meaning and identity as a parent.

No doubt you will have searched the internet and book stores for information, and perhaps asked friends and family for… Continue

Annie,
You've got me thinking.
An interesting term that the doctors and Obstetricians use for the "birthday" is the "Day of Confinement" sounds very medieval doesn't it?
Id be keen to hear if any blokes had any libido changes while their partners were pregnant. 2nd time round here and we've gone through the first trimester... My libido is pretty much the same as it always was (i.e. like most fellas it would fall into the "all the &@($)!* time" category).
All this morning sickness is rather distracting really.

In another context... a "day of confinement" is probably what a few couples might actually need!.
I could see judges laying down a sentence to quarreling couples right now -
"You two are confined to the bedroom for 24 hours"
hmm that could actually work for pregnant couples also - one would need to have food already prepared and in the fridge - picnic style - or take out / delivery might be the go!.

hmm . something to think about.
xxx
