Traditional Thai Massage has a yoga influence. The massage consists of many firm pressing, stretching and twisting moves, which encourages flexibility and wellbeing. This massage is done through the clothing on a soft mat on the floor. This 2 hour massage concentrates on the 'sen' channels of the body, massaging the feet, legs, back, stomach, arms, hands, neck, face and head.
Expect a firm massage that is very relaxing! I use thumb pressure, my elbows,my feet and 'palming' during the massage. People often comment on increased flexiblity, deep relaxation and feeling like they are 18 or 21 again.
Great for all you're sore muscles, back, neck, legs, increases flexibility, deep relaxation and invigorates you're whole body.
u>What brought me to Traditional Thai Massage?
A friend had asked me to travel with her to Vietnam, backpacking. The tickets were all booked. However my friend injured herself days before we were due to leave and she had to cancel. Not wanting to travel by myself I changed my tickets and went and visited one of my girlfriends in Thailand instead. Because of the short notice she could not get time off work. I caught up with her and her family in the evenings but had my days to fill in. There is only so much walking around Bangkok one can do in the humidity. So I went to the Wat Po Temple, where the reclining Buddha is, and had my first Traditional Thai Massage. I discovered that the "Wat Po Traditional Medical and Massage School" was attached to the Temple, so I signed up, plus it was air conditioned! :)
I had traditional food for lunch every day at the school with my new Thai friends and by the end of my holiday I had certificates in Traditional Thai Massage and Thai Foot Massage.
